Is your wrap bracelet or Apple Watch wrap band a little too long? You can shorten it yourself at home by removing a few beads and tying a new closure. It's easier than it looks.

This guide is for: wrap bracelets and Apple Watch wrap bands with a button closure. On an Apple Watch wrap band, you always shorten the loop end, never the end with the watch connectors.

You'll need: sharp scissors. Optional: clear jewelry glue or clear nail polish.

Before you start: take your time, and don't cut anything until you're completely happy with the new length.

Step 1: Check the length

Wrap the bracelet or band around your wrist and decide how much shorter you'd like it to be. If you're unsure, start with just one or two beads. You can always remove another one later.

Tip: take a quick photo of the original closure before you start. It will help you when you tie the new one.

Step 2: Untie the knots

Carefully loosen the knots at the loop end until the cords are free. Don't cut the cord yet.

Step 3: Remove the extra beads

Slide the beads off one at a time until you reach the length you want. Wrap it around your wrist again to check the fit. This is the easiest moment to adjust.

Step 4: Secure the beads

Tie a tight double knot directly against the last bead, so the beads stay firmly in place.

For extra hold, you can add a small drop of clear jewelry glue or clear nail polish to the knot. Let it dry completely before wearing.

Step 5: Leave enough cord

Before you trim anything, make sure you leave about 12 cm of cord after the knot. You need this length to make the new loops.

Step 6: Make the new loops

Holding both cords together, tie a regular knot. Leave a little space, then tie the next one. Each space between two knots becomes a loop for the button.

Make two or three loops, just like the original closure. Check that the button fits through each loop, then trim the cord ends.

Your wrap now fits the way you want it to. The different loops let you choose the fit that feels most comfortable.
